Football for equality discussed during Malta FA conference

10th December, 2020 was an important day for the Malta Football Association’s Football Social Responsibility department as we hosted a roundtable conference on Gender Equality and Ethnic Minorities in Football at the Centenary Hall.

The event was part of the concerted efforts undertaken by the Malta FA in collaboration with FARE, UEFA, the Portuguese FA and other organisations in the EU-financed project – Innovating Football Leadership: Inclusion Through Policy and Practice (IFlipp).

The project aims to give a voice at the table in positions of leadership and create a more equal society.

The Malta FA-organised conference brought together clubs, the Faculty for Social Well-Being, National Council of Women, sports personalities and businesswomen, as well as Malta FA staff to discuss these issues on a local level.

“The positive response and enthusiasm for this event is a continuation of the Malta FA’s work in promoting and encouraging inclusion and integration on all fronts, regardless of race, gender, age and ability,” said Peter Busuttil, from the Malta FA’s FSR department.

A second roundtable conference is scheduled to take place in January 2021.
