Two goals in the dying minutes handed Birkirkara a 2-0 win over Mgarr United in a match from the BOV Women’s League at the Dingli Ground. A win which ensures the Stripes maintain a perfect record and a comfortable lead over Mgarr and Swieqi.
The game seemed heading for a draw but Veronique Mifsud managed to break the deadlock three minutes from time and substitute Mariah Cardona doubled the score on the 90th.

Charlene Zammit put Swieqi ahead on the 6th minute, Kayleigh Chetcuti doubled the score on the 31st and just before the end of the first half, Jade Flask made it 3-0. Dorianne Theuma converted a penalty eleven minutes in the second half with Ruth Steer Chetham and Demi Magrin adding another two goals on the 67th and 69th.

In the Women’s Under-15 League, Birkirkara joined Swieqi United on top as they defeated Mgarr United 23-0 while Mosta registered an 8-1 win over Mtarfa.
