Hibernians extended their positive run to six matches as they scored twice in the second half to beat Tarxien Rainbows 2-0 at the Hibernians Stadium on Saturday.
A win which puts the Paolites temporarily on top the BOV Premier League table before Hamrun Spartans take on bottom-placed Senglea Athletic later on Saturday.
Tarxien, on the other hand, remain third from bottom after winning just one out of their last nine matches.
Hibs took the lead on the 74th minute when off a corner by Jurgen Degabriele, Ferdinando Apap slotted the ball past goalkeeper Jurgen Borg.
One minute in added time, the Paolites doubled the score courtesy of Imanol Iriberri who tapped the ball home from close range after as assist by Gabi Izquier from the right, when served by Jose Wilkson Texeira.
