Sirens come from behind to beat Floriana

Floriana extended their winless streak as they allowed Sirens to turn a one-goal deficit into a 2-1 win at the National Stadium on Saturday.

The Greens have now failed to win in the last nine matches, losing three out of the last four matches. They continue to share the fourth place from bottom with Balzan.

Sirens, on the other hand, grab another three precious point as they have now won three out of their last four matches, joining Santa Lucia in seventh place.

Against the run of play, Floriana took the lead one minute from the end of the first half thanks to a Kristian Keqi penalty after Jerome Lombe Lumu was brought down inside the area by Adrian Borg.

Sirens, however, equalised on the 71st minute thanks to veteran substitute Ryan Darmanin, who had just replaced Terence Agius, off a Ryan Grech corner from the left.

Seven minutes from time, Sirens notched the winner when off a Ryan Grech freekick from the left, Angel Manuel Bustos headed the ball home past goalkeeper Andrea Cassar.
