Goals by Lydon Micallef on the 7th minute and Antonio Monticelli on the 45th handed Marsa a 2-0 win over Pieta’ Hotspurs at the Centenary Stadium in one of the five matches in programme from the BOV Challenge League on Sunday. Marsa therefore move to just one point behind Pembroke Athleta despite having a game in hand.

Swieqi United moved back in third place thanks to a 4-0 win over bottom-placed Qormi at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

An Alan Schembri Wismayer hat-trick on the 57th, 62nd and 79th (penalty) put Swieqi three goals ahead with Jeremy Micallef wrapping up victory with a goal two minutes in added time.

Zebbug Rangers moved fifth thanks to a 3-0 win over Vittoriosa Stars at the Centenary Stadium courtesy of a Clive Gauci hat-trick on the 21st, 30th and 70th.

In another match at the Centenary Stadium, Fgura United and Marsaxlokk shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

On the other hand, St. George’s registered their first win, defeating St. Andrews 2-1 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Yuto Nomura put St. George’s ahead on the 20th and although Alan Borg Olivier equalised on the on the 32nd, Kouta Suemitsu made it 2-1 on the 59th.
