FA Trophy, BOV National Amateur League draws to be held on Thursday

The draws for the Malta FA Trophy Round of 16, the BOV National Amateur League play-offs and the Women’s Under-15 Knock-Out semi-finals will be held on Thursday.

The sixteen teams in the Round of 32 of the FA Trophy are Birkirkara, Gzira United, Hamrun Spartans, Mosta, Santa Lucia, Senglea Athletic, Sirens, Tarxien Rainbows, Valletta and the winner of the clash between Hibernians and Zejtun Corinthians from the Premier League; Challenge League sides Marsa, Naxxar Lions, Pembroke Athleta and St. Andrews and Gozitan teams Ghajnsielem and Xaghra United.

Matches are due to be played on March 2, 3 and 4.

Meanwhile in the BOV National Amateur League championship play-offs, group winners Mgarr United, Luqa St. Andrew’s and Melita will be playing in a one-round round-robin league.

Matches will be played on Saturday 27 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Tuesday March 2 at the Centenary Stadium and Saturday March 6 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

On the other hand, Zurrieq, Marsaskala and Mellieha; Msida St. Joseph, Siggiewi and Rabat Ajax; Attard, Kirkop United and Xghajra Tornados will be taking part in the BOV National Amateur League promotion play-offs. One team will secure promotion from this knock-out.

Two teams from the three who placed fourth in the respective group (Mellieha, Rabat Ajax or Xghajra Tornados) will be drawn to play in a preliminary round which is scheduled for Tuesday February 23. The winner will join the remaining eight teams in the quarter-finals.

Teams who placed second will be seeded and will face either one of the fourth-placed teams or one of the third-placed teams. The other two third-placed teams will be facing each other in the other quarter-final. The quarter-finals will be played on Saturday February 27.

The semi-finals are set to be played on Wednesday March 3 and the final on Saturday March 6.

Meanwhile Birkirkara, Mosta, Swieqi United and Zebbug Rangers will be contesting the Women’s Under-15 Knock-Out semi-finals.
