BOV Challenge League: Marsa take sole leadership

Marsa took sole leadership in the BOV Challenge League following a 2-0 win over Swieqi United in a match at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.

Dylan Grima put Marsa ahead just before half-time and Lydon Micallef doubled the score on the 70th.

Naxxar Lions maintained the challenge for the promotion play-off thanks to a 4-1 win over Zebbug Rangers at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Mark Fenech put Naxxar ahead on the 34th and two minutes from the end of the first half, Robinson Blandon Rendon doubled the score. Ayrton Mizzi pulled one back on the 54th but Rendon added another on the 77th with Santiago Martinez Perlaza sealing the issue with a fourth goal in added time.

In another match, St. Andrews defeated Pieta’ Hotspurs 3-2.

St. Andrews scored three within the first seventeen minutes thanks to Kemmu Degran Jackson on the 9th, Kei Sano on the 15th and Gunnar Orvar Stefansson on the 17th but the Hotspurs reduced the gap on the 23rd thanks to Zean Leonardi and a goal by Jose Lucas Caetanso da Silva on the 91st.
