Mellieħa Futsal won the FMA Amateur Cup after defeating Ta’ Xbiex Futsal 5-2 at the National Sports School Pavilion on Friday.

With the score 1-1 at half-time after Ervin Rigo put Mellieha ahead and Stefi Cale equalised for Ta’ Xbiex, Mellieha went two goals ahead courtesy of Gregory Busuttil and Denzil Pisani but Glenn Bonello reduced the gap. However Mellieha hit back with goals by Ervin Rigo and Chris Cardona to seal the issue.

After the match, FMA president Mark Borg presented the trophy to Mellieħa captain Ryan Xuereb.
