The BOV National Amateur League 2021/22, which will kick-off on September 17/18, will be divided into two groups of ten teams and nine teams respectively. The two groups will be played over two rounds and the last match from the first phase will be played on March 20. The play-offs will come to an end with the final on April 9.

Matches will be played on Saturdays and Sundays at the Centenary Stadium, Victor Tedesco Stadium, the Sirens Stadium and the Luxol Stadium.

The top team from each group will be promoted with another team to be promoted emerging from the play-offs.

The draw was held on Friday by MFA General Secretary Dr Angelo Chetcuti and Malta women’s national team player Kailey Willis in the presence of MFA Director Football Operations Stephen Azzopardi.

Teams were divided into four pots: Pot 1 with Qormi, who were relegated from the Challenge League and the teams finishing in second place in the respective groups last season; Pot 2 with teams finishing third, fourth and fifth last season, Pot 3 with the teams finishing sixth and seventh and Pot 4 with the only team finishing in the eighth place last season.

The teams in Group A are Attard, Siggiewi, Ta’ Xbiex, Dingli Swallows, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s, Msida St. Joseph, Gharghur, Xghajra Tornados, Ghaxaq and Kalkara United.

On the other hand, the teams in Group B are Zurrieq, Mellieha, Sta. Venera Lightnings, Zabbar St. Patrick, Kirkop United, Qormi, Mdina Knights, Mtarfa and Marsaskala.
