Birkirkara women sign Portuguese forward

The Birkirkara women’s team secured the services of Portuguese centre-forward Flavia Fartaria.

Thirty-one Fartaria, who has played in the top division of Portugal with Atlético Ouriense for the past ten years, has joined the Birkirkara contingent in Turin for a training camp.

The team will have two training sessions on Saturday and Monday and a friendly match against Italian champions Juventus on Sunday, kick-off at 18:30, as they prepare in the best possible way for the upcoming UEFA Women’s Champions League commitments in mid-August where they will face Glasgow City in the semi-final and then BIIK Kazygurt or SK Slovan Bratislava in the final or match for third place.

Meanwhile Flavia Fartaria will not be the only new signing for the Stripes. In fact, Birkirkara have already agreed in principle with Swieqi United over the transfer of Malta international defender Charlene Zammit and Ruth Steer Chetham.
