Lija Athletic registered their first win in Group A of the BOV Challenge League as they defeated Vittoriosa Stars 4-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
Joao Pedro Oliveira Santos put Lija ahead on the 4th minute and Lydon Micallef doubled the score eight minutes from the end of the first half. On the hour, Robeiro do Nascimento Santos converted a penalty and substitute Tomoya Shinamura made it 4-0 twelve minutes from time.
At the Centenary Stadium, Melita and Mqabba shared the spoils in a goalless draw.
In Group B, Tarxien Rainbows and St. Andrews shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
Darren Falzon put Tarxien ahead on the 22nd minute but a penalty by Joseph Farrugia levelled matters on ten minutes later with Luis Andre de Melo Lima handing St. Andrews the lead before half-time. However seven minutes in the second half, Wellington de Oliveira made it 2-2.
