Marsaxlokk registered their first win in Group A of the BOV Challenge League as they defeated Mqabba 3-1 in one of the two matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
Peter Paul Sammut handed Marsaxlokk the lead on the 21st and Terence Vella doubled the score on the 81st. Luka MIjic reduced the gap thanks to a penalty on the 88th but five minutes in added time, Terence Vella added another.
Naxxar lead the way with 15 points, followed by Zejtun and Melita on 10, Pembroke 9, Vittoriosa 6, San Gwann 5, Marsaxlokk, Rabat, Lija and Mqabba 4 and St. George’s 0.
Meanwhile in Group B, Swieqi United and Luqa St. Andrew’s shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Centenary Stadium.
Tarxien and Swieqi lead the way with 9 points, followed by Marsa on 8, Zebbug and Fgura 7, Luqa, Qrendi and Pieta’ 6, St. Andrews, Mgarr and Senglea 3.
