All eyes will be on the top-of-the-table clash from the BOV Premier League on Saturday as leaders Hibernians take on second-placed Birkirkara in one of the three matches in programme at the Hibernians Stadium and the Centenary Stadium.
In fact, in the first match at the Hibernians Stadium, kick-off at 15:00, Birkirkara face Hibernians.
Three points separate the two teams as the Paolites lie three points ahead of the Stripes. Hibs were held in a 1-1 draw by Valletta last week but Birkirkara failed to join them on top as they allowed Sirens to come from behind and beat them 3-2. Hibs are still unbeaten as they dropped only four points in two draws. In fact, the draw with Valletta was the second in three matches as they won 3-0 against Sliema in the other game. The Stripes, on the other hand, suffered their first defeat after six positive results but have only won one out of the last four matches as they defeated Gudja, being held in draws by Gzira and Floriana.
At the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 17:00, Valletta face Santa Lucia.
The draw with Hibernians allowed the Citizens to join Floriana in fourth place on ten points. It was their second positive result following three defeats in the previous three matches. Santa Lucia, on the other hand, are joint-second from bottom as they earned six points from six draws but continue to chase their first win. In their last outing, they earned a point in a goalless draw with Sliema.
At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 19:00, Hamrun Spartans take on Sirens.
The Spartans returned to winning ways last week as they defeated Gudja 3-1 and are currently joint-sixth on nine points together with Gzira and Balzan. Sirens, on the other hand, moved third thanks to a 3-2 win over Birkirkara and against Hamrun, they eye another positive result to stay close to the top two.
Sirens will be without the suspended Kemmu Degran Jackson and Kemar Reid.
