A goal by Joseph Mbong handed Hamrun Spartans a second consecutive win and the third win in four matches as they defeated Sirens 1-0 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
The Spartans leapfrog Sirens to move fourth on twelve points, one behind third-placed Valletta and one ahead of Sirens. For the St. Paul’s Bay side, the result was quite disappointing following the impressive 3-2 win over Birkirkara last week.
Joseph Mbong scored the all-important goal on 63 minutes beating Jonathan Debono with a shot from inside the area.
