Nadur move six points clear

Despite having a game in hand, Nadur Youngsters moved six points clear in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division following a 3-0 win over Xewkija Tigers.

Marcelo Barbosa Junior scored on the 20th and 39th with Ederson Bruno Domingos adding another nine minutes from time.

Their nearest rivals Ghajnsielem defeated Kercem Ajax 4-1 but then suffered a shock 0-3 defeat to Oratory Youths.

Goals by Michael Joseph Bezzina (28′), Kurt Grima (39′), Ryota Watanabe (41′) and Johnny Camilleri (81′) did the job in the clash against Kercem who scored their only goal through Luiz Henrique Santana Motta (49′).

A brace by Pablo Vinicius de Moraes Ferreira on the 15th and 54th and a goal by Haraan Hajazan Goncalves Barbosa handed the Youths the three points.

In another match, Victoria Hotspurs defeated SK Victoria Wanderers 1-0 in the derby courtesy of Robinson Blandon Rendon seven minutes in the second half.

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, Zebbug Rovers dropped two important points in their bid to close in on leaders Qala as they were held in a 3-3 draw by Xaghra United.

Nathan Cini handed Zebbug a two-goal lead during the second half but Xaghra turned the score in their favour with a goal by Matthias Cordina and a brace by Shemar Tristan Blair. However, Daniel Mesa Pineros levelled matters in added time.

In another match, St. Lawrence Spurs and Munxar Falcons shared the spoils in 2-2 draw. Following a goalless first half, Alen Haska put the Spurs ahead but Aron Buttigieg equalised. Christopher Cauchi restored the lead but Ayesller Carvalho restored equilibrium for the Falcons.
