Malta international midfielder Matthew Guillaumier joined Italian Serie C side ACN Siena 1904 on loan from Hamrun Spartans until the end of the season. Siena have an option over the player.
Guillaumier, who is a product of St. Andrews, made his senior team debut at the age of 15 in the First Division. He had a spell with Italian side Empoli in the latter part of 2013 before returning to Malta to play on a more regular basis with St. Andrews before the turning out for the Malta Under-17 national team in the UEFA Under-17 Championship finals in May 2014. He moved to Birkirkara in January 2016 and was transferred to Hamrun Spartans in summer 2020.

The player was linked to Reggina in the Serie B but the deal fell through after the club failed to transfer a number of players in order to be able to sign the Malta international midfielder.
Siena play in the Serie C Girone B and are currently thirteenth out of twenty teams.
AC Siena played for nine years in the Serie A between 2003/04 and 2012/13 but then went bankrupt in 2014. The club was re-founded as Robur Siena SSD and eventually as ACN Siena 1904 in 2020.
