Branko Nisevic appointed Hamrun Spartans coach

Hamrun Spartans have appointed Branko Nisevic as their new coach Nisevic replaces Mark Buttigieg whose contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Nisevic was thw coach of Gozitan leaders Nadur Youngsters for the past year.

Born in Serbia, Nisevic has spent most of his playing career in Malta, turning out for a number of clubs including Sliema Wanderers, Hibernians, Valletta, Pietà Hotspurs and Birkirkara before moving into coaching.

As a coach, Nisevic has won the BOV Premier League title with Hibernians FC in season 2014-15. Later he had a spell with Gżira United.

Nisevic served as Malta Under-19 and Under-17 national coach as well as assistant to national team coaches Pietro Ghedin between 2011 and 2013 and Ray Farrugia between 2018 and 2019.

Hamrun are currently joint-fourth on 27 points with eight wins, three draws and seven defeats.
