Heavy defeat for Under-18 side in Cyprus

The Malta Under-18 national team suffered a 6-2 defeat to Cyprus in a friendly match at the Paralimni Municipal Stadium.

Spyridakis put the hosts ahead after just four minutes and on the 15th, Malta equalised through Shaisen Attard. However on the 38th minute, Cyprus regained the lead through Savva.

In the second half, the hosts extended the lead thanks to a hat-trick by Georgiou on the 80th, 86th and the 90th and a goal by Kolias on the 83rd. Jake Micallef converted a penalty for Malta one minute in added time.

The two teams will be facing each other in another friendly match on Sunday.
