Nothing at stake as four teams play final match

Nothing in particular will be at stake as four teams play their final match from the BOV Premier League on Thursday. Floriana face Gudja in a match from the BOV Premier League Top Six final round at the National Stadium while at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Mosta take on Sirens in the Play-Out final round.

Both matches kick-off at 19:00.

Having to settle for the runner-up spot, Floriana will be using this match as preparation for next week’s Izibet FA Trophy semi-final against champions Hibernians.

The Greens are yet to score a goal in the final round after losing 0-1 to Gzira, earning three points in goalless draws with Hibs, Birkirkara and Hamrun.

Gudja, on the other hand, ended their commitments in sixth place in the Top Six. They earned three points in a 1-0 win over Hamrun, losing 0-3 to Birkirkara, 0-2 to Hibernians and 1-3 to Gzira.

Floriana defeated Gudja twice this season – 1-0 and 2-0.

Meanwhile Mosta and Sirens face each other in a clash between two teams who secured their Premier League status in the past week or weeks.

Mosta lost 0-1 to Sliema but defeated Balzan 3-2 and following a 1-1 draw with Santa Lucia, they beat Valletta 3-2. Sirens, on the other hand, lost 0-3 to Valletta but following a 2-2 draw with Santa Lucia, defeated Sliema 5-0, losing 2-3 to Balzan.

Following a 1-1 draw in the first round, Sirens defeated Mosta 3-2 in the second.
