Nadur Youngsters complete treble

After winning the BOV Gozo Football League First Division championship and the BOV GFA First Division Knock-Out, Nadur Youngsters completed the treble as they defeated Ghajnsielem 3-2 in the final of the BOV GFA Cup at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

Marcelo Barbosa Junior put Nadur ahead on the 32nd minute but five minutes in the second half, Gennaro Hili was sent off for Nadur and Ghajnsielem were awarded a penalty which was converted by Igor Nedeljkovic.

Nadur regained the lead on the 68th thanks to Ederson Bruno Domingos but eleven minutes from time, Igor Nedeljkovic restored equilibrium.

However on the 90th, Ghajnsielem had Lawrence Grima sent off as Nadur were awarded a penalty and Marcelo Barbosa made no mistake to hand Nadur victory.

Charmaine Borg, Regional Manager for Gozo at Bank of Valletta and Samuel Azzopardi, President of the Gozo Football Association presented the BOV GFA Cup to the Youngsters.

Meanwhile Sannat Lions retained their First Division status as they defeated Second Division runners-up Munxar Falcons 3-0 in the Promotion/Relegation Play-Off on Saturday.

Henry Fabian Solis put Sannat ahead on the 16th minute, Nicholas Grima doubled the score on the 42nd and three minutes later, Solis added another.
