Birkirkara sign Italian defender

Birkirkara continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Italian twenty-two year old defender Alessandro Coppola on loan from Triestina.

A product of Torino, Coppola had spells on loan with Ercolanese and Sondrio before moving to Livorno. He then moved to Olhanense in Portugal, returning to Italy to join Triestina. In the January transfer window, he joined Tsarsko Selo in Bulgaria on loan.

The Stripes, who have appointed Giovanni Tedesco as their new coach, had earlier signed Osvaldo Iorio Forestero, Diego Pires Dall’Oca, Kevin Tulimieri, Denis Custodio Ribeiro, Enzo Daniel Cabrera, Alex da Paixao Alves and goalkeeper Giacomo Nava.
