Birkirkara secured the services of Malta international striker Jean Paul Farrugia on a one year loan from Sliema Wanderers.
A product of Hibernians, the thirty year old had spells on loan with Marsaxlokk, Spartak Trnava in Slovakia and Sliema Wanderers earlier in his career. In 2016, he was transferred to Sliema but moved to FC Chiasso in Switzerland in 2017. The following season, he returned to Malta to join the Wanderers.
The Stripes, who have appointed Giovanni Tedesco as their new coach, had earlier signed Alessandro Coppola, Osvaldo Iorio Forestero, Diego Pires Dall’Oca, Kevin Tulimieri, Denis Custodio Ribeiro, Enzo Daniel Cabrera, Alex da Paixao Alves and goalkeeper Giacomo Nava.
