Floriana came back from two goals down to earn a point in a 2-2 draw with a Sirens side reduced to ten men at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
Sirens could not have a better start as they took the lead on the 4th minute thanks to a freekick from the left by Alex Cini which gave goalkeeper Georgi Kitanov no chance.
The St. Paul’s Bay side doubled the score on the 29th minute when off a cross by Degran Jackson from the right, Ivan Kolev hit home past Kitanov from close range.
On the 69th minute, referee Daniel Portelli handed Sirens captain Alex Cini a second yellow card for time-wasting and therefore, Sirens had to play the remaining twenty minutes in ten men. A decision which seemed a bit too harsh.
Floriana made the most out of this and four minutes later, they reduced the gap thanks to Andrei Ciolacu who hit home from close range following a cross by Adam Magri Overend.
Two minutes later, the Greens levelled matters thanks to another goal by Andrei Ciolacu from the edge of the area which beat Cassar in the bottom right corner.
