A goal by Kemar Reid four minutes from time handed Floriana a narrow win in the derby at the National Stadium on Saturday.
For Floriana this was the second win following a draw with Sirens and a defeat to Birkirkara in their last two outings while for the Citizens, this was the first defeat after obtaining a win and two draws from the first three matches.
Valletta had two changes from the team which drew with Sirens as Christian Gauci and Ulrich N’Nomo replaced One Akpoveta and the suspended Brandon Paiber. Floriana, on the other hand, had Mattia Veselji, Kemar Reid and new signing Fernando Juarez replacing Andrei Ciolacu, Jan Busuttil and Eden Hershkovich in the starting line-up.
The Greens scored the all-important goal four minutes from time when Kemar Reid received a through pass on the left and advanced into the area before slotting the ball past goalkeeper Alessandro Guarnone.
