Senglea Athletic dropped their first points in Group A of the National Amateur League as they were held in a goalless draw by Kalkara United at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.
Pembroke Athleta, on the other hand, collected their first three points as they beat Xghajra Tornados 3-1 at the Sirens Stadium.
Xylon Marmara put Pembroke ahead on the 32nd and seven minutes later, Weverton Gomes converted a penalty to double the score. An own goal narrowed the gap for Xghajra three minutes in the second half but Gareth Buttigieg made it 3-1 on the 77th.
Senglea lead the way with 13 points, followed by Zabbar on 12, Mgarr, Kalkara and Birzebbuga 7, Sta. Venera and Qormi 6, Xghajra 5, Mellieha and Pembroke 3 and Ta’ Xbiex 0.
Meanwhile in Group B, Msida St. Joseph moved second thanks to a narrow win over Kirkop United at the Sirens Stadium, courtesy of Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza on the 25th minute.
Rabat lead the way with 9 points, followed by Msida on 8, Ghaxaq 7, St. George’s 5, Luqa and Siggiewi 4, Gharghur 2, Dingli, Kirkop and Mdina 1.
