Under-15s play Montenegro in two friendly matches away from home

The Maltese Under-15 national team, under guidance of coach Francesco Macri, played two friendly matches in Montenegro. The first match on Sunday ended in a 3-1 defeat while Tuesday’s clash finished5-1 for the hosts.

The two teams met in April in two friendly matches at the Malta FA Training Grounds.

On Sunday, the hosts took a 2-0 lead at half-time and added a third on 55 minutes. In the 78th minute, Malta were awarded a penalty when substitute Liam Buhagiar was brought down in the box and Daniel Pawley duly converted.

In the second match, on Tuesday, Malta played a very good first half, although the hosts managed to open the score on 22 minutes, punishing a mistake by the Maltese. Two minutes later, Malta equalised thanks to a wonderful Pawley goal, taking full advantage from an error from Montenegro with a fine shot from the edge of the box. However, after the break, the hosts managed to add four goals on 50, 60, 64 and 65 minutes.
