Leaders Hamrun Spartans cross swords with Birkirkara in a top-of-the-table clash at the National Stadium on Saturday. In another match, Mosta take on Valletta.
In the first match, kick-off at 15:00, Hamrun Spartans will be all out to preserve their hundred percent record as they take on a Birkirkara side which dropped their first points in their last outing.
The Spartans, in fact, registered six wins in as many matches, beating Valletta 1-0 in their last outing while the Stripes dropped their first points in a 1-1 draw with third-placed Gudja United. Birkirkara are therefore eager to return to winning ways and will be all out to upset Hamrun.
Meanwhile, in the second match, kick-off at 17:15, Mosta take on Valletta.
Three points separate the two teams as Mosta lie seventh, on level points with Floriana, three points ahead of the Citizens who share the ninth place with Marsaxlokk. The Blues are unbeaten in three matches following a 4-1 win over Pieta’ and back-to-back 1-1 draws with Sirens and Floriana. On the other hand, Valletta lost their last three matches, losing 0-1 to Floriana, 0-3 to Birkirkara and 0-1 to Hamrun. They also failed to score in their last four games.
