Msida St. Joseph moved on top in Group B of the National Amateur League as they defeated Ghaxaq 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
Giovanni Galea scored twice on the 30th and the 40th with Shamizen Buhagiar reducing the gap eleven minutes in the second half.
In another match, Luqa St. Andrew’s and Kirkop United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Following a goalless first half, Giorgio Bellia put Kirkop ahead seven minutes in the second half but Alan Abdel Rahman equalised eleven minutes from time.
Msida lead the way with 11 points, followed by Rabat on 9, Ghaxaq 7, St. George’s, Gharghur and Luqa 5, Dingli, Siggiewi and Mdina 4 and Kirkop 2.
