Six Premier League players suspended

Six Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches. 

Gudja United goalkeeper Manuel Bartolo was banned for three matches while Clive Gauci and Nikolai Muscat (Gzira), Ali Diakite (Hibernians), Takuma Yamaguchi (Pieta’) and Eslit Sala (Valletta) were suspended for one match.

Bartolo is ruled out of the next three matches against Hibs, Pieta’ and Sirens. Also ruled out of Gudja vs Hibs is Ali Diakite. Gzira could not count on Nikolai Muscat and Clive Gauci for the game against Valletta who will be lacking Eslit Sala. Takuma Yamaguchi will miss the game against Santa Lucia.

In the Challenge League, Brooklyn Sciberras (Mqabba), Luke Anthony Borg (St. Andrews), Gilberto Martins Leite Carrara (Swieqi) and Carlos Conceicao Filho (Tarxien) were banned for one match.

Melita assistant coach Alessandro Ciantar was banned for two matches.

In the National Amateur League, Kyle Azzopardi and Andrea Hammett (Kalkara) and Jeremy Azzopardi (Dingli) were handed a one-match ban.
