A late goal enabled Hamrun Spartans to beat Mosta 2-1 to return to winning ways and ensure they retain sole leadership in the BOV Premier League table.
This defeat, on the other hand, brought to an end a positive run for the Blues who are now seventh.
Hamrun took the lead on the 25th when they were awarded a penalty after Vinicius Ribeiro was brought down inside the area by Roderick Briffa. From the penalty spot, Luke Montebello made no mistake.
Mosta levelled matters on the hour when off a Clayton Failla cross from the right, Christ Ememe beat Sanchez with a firm header.
Eight minutes from time, Hamrun notched the winner thanks to Matthew Guillaumier who flicked the ball home off a Matteo Fedele corner from the right.
