Mgarr United and St. George’s both registered wins to move third in Group A and Group B respectively of the National Amateur League.
In Group A, Mgarr defeated Qormi 3-2 at the Sirens Stadium.
Christian Saint Ebisindor put Mgarr ahead after just three minutes and Jamie Lee Micallef doubled the score on the 34th. Abner dos Santos Pinto pulled one back on the 53rd but Jurgen Grech made it 3-1 on the hour. Nathan Gauci scored a second goal for Qormi two minutes from time.
Senglea lead the way with 16 points, followed by Zabbar on 15, Birzebbuga, Mgarr and Kalkara 10, Qormi 9, Sta. Venera 6, Xghajra 5, Mellieha and Pembroke 3 and Ta’ Xbiex 0.
In Group B, goals by Aaron Agius on the 83rd and Morientes Muscat on the 96th handed St. George’s a 2-0 win over Ghaxaq.
Msida lead the way with 11 points, followed by Rabat on 10, St. George’s 9, Gharghur 8, Ghaxaq and Siggiewi 7, Luqa 5, Dingli and Mdina 4 and Kirkop 2.
