Gzira United will be facing leaders Hamrun Spartans in a top-of-the-table clash at the Tony Bezzina Stadium in one of the three matches in programme from the BOV Premier League. Marsaxlokk take on Hibernians while Gudja United face Pieta’ Hotspurs in the other two matches.
At the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 11:30, Gudja will be hoping to return to winning ways as they take on Pieta’.
Following a draw with Birkirkara, back-to-back defeats to Marsaxlokk and Hibernians saw Gudja lose eight points from the last nine matches and they will therefore be all out to return to winning ways in their bid to move back in third or fourth place. They are currently fifth on 14 points together with Mosta and Balzan. Pieta’, on the other hand, lie at the bottom of the table with just three points following a 1-2 defeat to Santa Lucia last week.
At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 15:00, Gzira United face leaders Hamrun Spartans in a clash between the only two teams who are still unbeaten.
The Spartans, who lie four points ahead of the Maroons, beat Mosta 2-1 in their last outing following a draw with Birkirkara. Gzira, on the other hand, were held in a goalless draw by Valletta after winning the previous four matches.
At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 17:30, Marsaxlokk take on Hibernians.
Back-to-back wins over Gudja and Birkirkara lifted Marsaxlokk to the ninth place, three points behind Gudja, Mosta and Balzan and one behind Floriana. Hibernians, who are coming from four successive wins, eye the three points which could put them in second place should Gzira fail to Hamrun. They are currently fourth on 16 points, one behind Birkirkara and two behind the Maroons.
