Malta to take part in UEFA Under-19 Futsal EURO qualifiers for the first time

The Malta Under-19 Futsal national team has been drawn in Group A with Lithuania, England, and Estonia in the first-ever UEFA qualifying group competition for this youth team.

The qualifying group in this Preliminary Round for Malta Under-19 Futsal team in Lithuania is scheduled between the 17th and 22nd of January.

The Malta U-19 Futsal team started months ago its preparations for this major competition, and this season is also taking part in the FMA domestic league, with the main objective being that our youths representing Malta at this level get more experience, raise their standards, and attain the much needed playing time ahead of this international tournament ahead.

The draws held on Thursday will pave the road to the 2023 finals scheduled to be contested in September next year.

A record 36 teams have entered the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Futsal Championship with 35 set to compete to join hosts Croatia in finals at Žatica Arena in Poreč, scheduled from 3–10 September of next year.

Apart from Malta, Germany is also taking part for the first time in the Preliminary Round of this competition.
