National Amateur Cup: Zabbar St. Patrick through to semi-finals

Zabbar St. Patrick were the first team to reach the semi-finals of the National Amateur Cup after defeating Qormi 6-2 at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday.

David Oliveira Souza put the Saints ahead on the 7th minute and Andre Joe Cutajar doubled the score on the 11th. Nathan Gauci reduced the gap for Qormi on the 20th but Cutajar scored again on the 25th and 42nd to put Zabbar 4-1 ahead at half-time. Ten minutes in the second half, Sheldon Seychell scored a second goal for Qormi but two minutes later, Kenneth Aquilina restored the comfortable lead for Zabbar with Andre Joe Cutajar adding another on the hour.

Apart from reaching the semi-finals, Zabbar will also take part in the Izibet FA Trophy Round of 32 where they will be facing St. Andrews.

The other semi-final between Mgarr United and Siggiewi was postponed due to a water-logged pitch at the Luxol Stadium.
