Mgarr United joined Zabbar St. Patrick, Kalkara United and Birzebbuga St. Peter\’s in the semi-finals of the National Amateur Cup after defeating Siggiewi 6-2 at the Sirens Stadium on Monday.
Saturday Nanapere put Mgarr ahead on the 35th and six minutes later, Jamie Lee Micallef doubled the score. Four minutes in the second half, Micallef scored the third goal for Mgarr and Christian Saint Ebisindor extended the lead on the 51st. Ryan Muscat reduced the gap for Siggieri on the 55th but John Micallef made it 5-1 on the 63rd. Ryan Muscat scored another for Siggiewi on the 73rd but Gabriel Sant scored Mgarr’s sixth one minute from time.
Apart from proceeding to the semi-finals of the competition, Mgarr will also enter the Round of the 32 of the Izibet FA Trophy after they were handed a bye in the Preliminary Round.
