Futsal: Swieqi United move top

Swieqi United moved top inn the Enemed Futsal League thanks to a convincing 4-1 win over St George’s.

The team led by Dylan Micallef made their intentions clear from the start and established a 3-0 lead over their opponents. Despite the Cottonera side’s reaction, Swieqi kept their composure and scored another goal to rubberstamp their victory.

Justin Theuma, Fabrizio Zammit, Emerson Molina and Dylan Pace hit the target for Swieqi while Jovica Milijic reduced the score for St George’s.

The match between Luxol and Żurrieq was postponed since the Maltese champions will participate in the UEFA Futsal Champions League.

University of Malta found no difficulty in beating Marsaskala 8-1. Steven Camilleri and Jean Noel Azzopardi scored a brace each with Aaron Montebello, Shataizan Zarb and Dale Valletta also on the mark for the Students. Ishmael Tabone scored a consolation goal for Marsaskala.

Fgura United beat Malta Under-19 4-2 in a well-contested encounter. Fgura were always in front but the Maltese youths gave them a tough challenge and it was only in the end that they succumbed to another defeat. Artem Mitielov, Sebastian Nayar, Nathan Sammut and Antoine Barbara were Fgura’s scorers while Malta Under-19 had Collin Sammut and Deyan Pace netting their goals
