Swieqi United and Mqabba earned a point each in a 5-5 draw in a match from the BOV Challenge League at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

Juan Pablo Morales Rengifo put Swieqi ahead on the 6th minute and David Emmanuel Garba doubled the score on the 20th. Mattia Del Negro increased the lead nine minutes in the second half and Jamie Scerri scored a fourth goal for Swieqi on the 63rd. Matthew Xuereb reduced the score for Mqabba on the 65th and a Lucas Matheus dos Santos hat-trick on the 67th, 71st and 73rd enabled them to complete an incredible comeback to level matters. David Emmanuel Garba put Swieqi 5-4 ahead on the 79th but Ronald Makalysten Melo Costa equalised nine minutes from time.

Meanwhile Sliema Wanderers regained a three-point lead thanks to a 3-1 win over Mtarfa. Luke Anthony Muscat put Sliema ahead six minutes from the end of the first half and Lydon Micallef doubled the score twelve minutes in the second half. Kurt Zammit pulled one back for Mtarfa on the 61st but Jake Engerer sealed the issue with a third goal eight minutes from time.

Sliema lead the way with 35 points, followed by Naxxar on 32, Zejtun 30, Tarxien 22, Fgura and Melita 21, Zurrieq 20, St. Andrews 19, Lija 18, Marsa and San Gwann 15, Swieqi and Attard 14, Marsaskala and Vittoriosa 10, Mqabba and Mtarfa 8 and Qrendi 7.
