Tarxien Rainbows failed to keep the pace with the top three teams in the BOV Challenge League as they lost 1-2 to Mqabba at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Monday.

Lucas Matheus dos Santos put Mqabba ahead on the 26th and the same player doubled the score on the 59th. Darren Falzon pulled one back for the Rainbows thirteen minutes from time.

Sliema lead the way with 41 points, followed by Naxxar on 38, Zejtun on 33, Tarxien 28, Zurrieq 26, Fgura, Melita and St. Andrews 22, Marsa and Swieqi 20, Lija 19, Attard 17, San Gwann 15, Marsaskala and Mqabba 14, Qrendi and Vittoriosa 10 and Mtarfa 8.
