Birkirkara and Swieqi United will be clashing swords in the Assikura Women’s Super Cup Final. The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday December 21st at 19:30. This will be the eight edition of the Women’s Super Cup, since its inception in 2004/05.
Women’s League champions Birkirkara finished the league with 50 points from 18 games. They dominated the season with 16 wins and 2 draws and were unbeaten at the end of the league. They also won the knock-out competition. In the Super Cup, the league champions face the knock-out winners.
Since Birkirkara won the two top competitions, they face second-place Swieqi United in the Assikura Super Cup final.
Last season, these two teams met three times during the league. Birkirkara registered two wins and the last game ended in a 2-2 draw. Birkirkara registered a 3-1 win and then a minimal 1-0 win.
