Zabbar St. Patrick moved top in Group A of the Izibet Amateur League as they defeated neighbours Xghajra Tornados 2-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday.

David Oliveira Souza put the Saints ahead on the 9th minute and Carl Magro doubled the score on the 55th.

In a match at the Centenary Stadium, Mgarr United defeated Kalkara United 3-1.

Saturday Nanapere put Mgarr ahead on the 16th and Christian Saint Ebisindor doubled the score on the 68th. Five minutes later, Jurgen Grech extended the lead with Kyle Azzopardi scoring a consolation goal for Kalkara three minutes in added time.

Zabbar lead the way with 32 points, followed by Senglea on 31, Mgarr 29, Kalkara 21, Birzebbuga and Qormi 19, Xghajra 17, Sta. Venera 10, Pembroke 9, Mellieha 7 and Ta’ Xbiex 0.
