Futsal: Fine win for Luxol over University

Luxol registered a fine 8-2 win over University of Malta in the Enemed Futsal Premier League.

As the score clearly indicates, the St Andrews side were in a class of their own and managed to obtain an important victory to strengthen their position on top of the standings. Mark Zammit and Celino Alves scored twice with Luke Gatt, Andy Mangion, Everton Veve and Marwan Telisi also on the mark. Cleavon Portelli had a personal brace for University of Malta.

Swieqi United kept their pace in the top part of the table after a hard-earned 5-4 victory over Żurrieq.

It was not an easy match for the Owls as they had to endure Żurrieq’s reaction although in the end they took the most important three points. Santiago Cruz scored a brace with Emerson Molina, Shawn Degaura and Michael Borg adding to their tally. Żurrieq replied through a Jose Mendes double with David Ferreria and Armando Gjepali also on target.

In the Enemed Challenger League, St George’s remain top as they beat Malta U-19 6-2.

Faisal Alnakou helped himself with a hat-trick with Karl Luke Schembri notching a brace. Denzil Pisani scored the other goal for the Cottonera side. Kubilay Karadol and Jean Paul Muscat were on target for the Maltese youths.

On the other hand, Marsaskala obtained a massive 11-1 win over Malta Veterans. The Seasouthsiders dominated the proceeding and had Denim Parnis and Amir Ashtiyani scoring a poker with Craig Pickard, Bertram Azzopardi and Jean Lopes Leite also finding the back of the net. Robert Fenech was the only scorer for the Veterans
