More fixtures postponed by Malta FA

In the interest of safety for the general public, players and staff, the two IZIBET FA Trophy games and the two National Youth League Section D games which were due to be held today, Thursday 9th February 2023 have been postponed. Two National Amateur League Group B fixtures that were scheduled for tomorrow Friday 10th February have also been postponed.

Today’s fixture between Santa Lucia and Marsaxlokk at the Tony Bezzina Stadium and Gzira United vs Qala Saints at the Centenary Stadium will no longer go ahead. Postponed also are today’s two National Youth League Section D games between Senglea A and Siggiewi, and Marsaskala and St George’s.

Two National Amateur League Section B games, those between St George’s and Rabat and Msida and Ghaxaq which were scheduled to be played tomorrow at the Centenary Stadium are also postponed.

When it comes to weather, the players’ safety, and that of the supporters is priority number one. Games have been postponed, following the heavy rain, warnings of gale force winds and poor field conditions from previous rain.

Every attempt is made by the Malta FA to play games as scheduled.  The Malta FA reiterates that it will be assessing the weather conditions day by day and may take decisions to reschedule more games in the coming days. 

All tickets bought for any of the above mentioned fixtures will be valid for the rescheduled fixtures. Anyone not able to attend the respective match on the rescheduled date may request a refund by sending an email with details of the match to
