Marsaxlokk moved another step towards securing their Premier League status as they earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Gudja United at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
A draw which puts Marsaxlokk in tenth place on 20 points, one ahead of Sirens and six ahead of Zebbug Rangers who are third from bottom. Gudja, on the other hand, now lie five points behind sixth-placed Hibernians and Balzan, who both have a game in hand.
Gudja took the lead on the 31st minute when off a cross by Karl Micallef, Tatsuro Nagamatsu headed the ball home past goalkeeper Marko Drobnjak.
Marsaxlokk equalised two minutes from the end of the first half when off an assist by Santiago Moracci from the right, Claudio Bonanni slammed the ball home from close range.
