Twelve Premier League players suspended

Twelve Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Angel Torres (Balzan), Paul Mbong (Birkirkara), Ulises Jose Arias and Emiliano Callegari (Floriana), Neil Anthony Micallef (Gudja), Jonny Robert do Nascimento Torres (Hamrun), Gonzalo Llerena Bravo (Hibernians), Marko Drobnjak and Tiago Adan Fonseca (Marsaxlokk), Terence Agius and Alan Schembri Wismayer (Pieta’), Rodolfo Soares (Santa Lucia) are therefore ruled out of this weekend’s matches.

Jonny will skip this weekend’s big match between Hamrun and Gzira; Torres is ruled out of the game against Valletta; Llerena, Drobnjak and Fonseca are ruled out of Hibs vs Marsaxlokk; Arias and Callegari will miss the game against Zebbug; Mbong the game against Mosta; Soares the game against Sirens while Micallef, Agius and Schembri Wismayer are ruled out of Pieta’ vs Gudja.

Santa Lucia official John Urry was suspended for three months.

In the Challenge League, Brandon Bray and Keith Fedele (Attard) were both banned for three matches while Iroha Chukwebuka (Melita), Miguel D’Alessandro (Sliema), Lee Pisani (Fgura), Josuel Spiteri (Marsaskala), Clifford Gatt Baldacchino (Qrendi) and Aaron Sammut (Vittoriosa) were suspended for one match.

Melita coach Savior Debono Grech was banned for one match.

In the Amateur League, Gareth Buttigieg and Xylon Marmara (Pembroke), Simon Vella (Sta. Venera) and Arte Mitielov (Ta’ Xbiex), Neil Scerri (Xghajra), Nick Borg and Andre Joe Cutajar (Zabbar) were all banned for one match.
