Msida St. Joseph secured promotion to the Challenge League as they defeated Mdina Knights 12-0 in a match from Group B of the Izibet Amateur League at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday.
Msida scored no less than eight goals during the first half thanks to Edward Bugeja on the 12th, Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza on the 20th, 29th, 32nd and 41st and Giovanni Galea on the 23rd, 37th and 44th. Mifsud Triganza scored another two goals on the 67th and 79th with Jason Camilleri scoring on the 76th and Misael Tabone on the 81st
Meanwhile Rabat Ajax returned to winning ways as they came from behind to beat Kirkop United 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium.
Lincoln Micallef put Kirkop ahead on the 52nd but Immy Micallef levelled matters nine minutes from time and two minutes in added time, Jake Cordina notched the winner.
Msida lead the way with 39 points, followed by Rabat on 31, Luqa 28, Gharghur 27, Kirkop 23, St. George’s 20, Ghaxaq 18, Siggiewi 12, Dingli 8 and Mdina 6.
