Pieta’ Hotspurs returned to winning ways as they defeated Gudja United 3-1 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Sunday.
The Hotspurs remain at the bottom of the table but now lie three points behind Santa Lucia and six behind Zebbug Rangers.
The Hotspurs took the lead after just two minutes when Armen Hovhannisyan converted a penalty after Karl Micallef floored Kian Leonardi inside the area.
Gudja levelled matters on the 15th courtesy of Tatsuro Nagamatsu whose low shot from the left beat goalkeeper Reeves Cini.
The Hotspurs regained the lead on the 28th thanks to a Temitope Abraham Ojo effort from outside the area which was not held by Zammit.
Five minutes from time, the Hotspurs sealed the issue with a third goal when Armen Hovhannisyan, served by Yamaguchi, hit low past the Gudja goalkeeper.
