Ten-man Sirens beat Marsaxlokk

Ten-man Sirens defeated Marsaxlokk by the odd goal in five in an entertaining clash at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.

A win which enables Sirens to leapfrog Gudja to move ninth. 

Sirens took the lead on the 10th minute when off a cross by Kei Sano, Jacob Walker hit home from close range. 

The St. Paul’s Bay side doubled the score on the 32nd minute when following a good run by Kei Sano on the left, he served Rei Tachikawa who hit low past goalkeeper Marko Drobnjak. 

Marsaxlokk reduced the gap on the 41st minute thanks to an angled shot by Daniel Agius who beat goalkeeper Matthew Grech.

Sirens had Sean Cipriott sent off for serious foul play one minute from the end of the first half

Marsaxlokk equalised two minutes in added time when off a Daniel Agius corner, Peter Xuereb placed the ball at the back of the net from close range.

Seven minutes from time, Sirens notched the winner courtesy of Jacob Walker who headed home off a cross by Kei Sano.
