Malta National Team Head Coach Michele Marcolini has promoted Hamrun Spartans goalkeeper Matthias Debono to the senior squad for the upcoming EURO qualifying matches.

This decision came after Valletta FC goalkeeper Cain Formosa (Valletta FC), was omitted from the squad.  Matthias Debono was part of the Under 21 National Team training camp, led by Coach Francesco Macri which is currently underway.  This is the first time that the Hamrun Spartans custodian has been called up with the Senior National Team.

The Malta National Team is scheduled to face England next Friday at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium. Three days later, Malta will play against Ukraine at Trnava Stadium in Slovakia.
