Spain registered a second win in as many matches as they defeated Greece 5-0 in a match from Group B of the UEFA Under-19 Championship at the Gozo Stadium on Friday.
While Spain are sure of a place in the semi-finals after beating Iceland 2-1 in the first match, Greece are now eliminated after they lost 4-5 to Norway in their first outing.
Spain took the lead on the 11th minute thanks to Victor Barbera who hit home off a cross from the right by Gonzalo.
Three minutes later, Manuel Angel doubled the score, placing the ball at the back of the net off a cross from the right by Fresneda.
Another three minutes passed and Spain scored the third goal, courtesy of Cesar Palacios who exchanged the ball with Barbera before beating goalkeeper Nikolaos Botis with a shot from outside the area.
One minute in added time, Victor Barbera made it 4-0, hitting home off an assist by Dani Perez from the left.
Twelve minutes in the second half, Arnau Casas scored Spain’s fifth goal as he headed the ball home off an Ilias Akomach freekick from the left.
On Monday, Spain take on Norway at the National Stadium while Greece face Iceland at the Tony Bezzina Stadium. Both matches kick-off at 21:00
