Gudja United have appointed Jesmond Zammit as their new coach. This will be his second spell at Gudja after leading the team in season 2020/21.
Jesmond Zammit had started his coaching career with Dingli Swallows whom he led to promotion to the Premier League in 2009. He left the club to join Valletta FC as team-manager but the following season, Zammit was appointed as coach of Hamrun Spartans. He stepped down eight months later, joining Zebbug Rangers in summer 2012, spending just over two years. In 2016, he joined Xewkija Tigers, coaching the Hibernians women’s team at the same time for one year. With Xewkija, he won the championship in 2016/17, spending four years at the club. Last season, Zammit coached Qrendi in the Challenge League.
Zammit will be assisted by Vesko Petrovic as assistant coach.
Gudja had earlier signed Gabriel Mensah, Sean Cipriott, Mateo Casini and Walter Serrano.
